Ben Carson, a known Seventh-day Adventist and retired neurosurgeon, now the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, offered a prayer to open the White House cabinet meeting October 21, 2019. In his political prayer, Ben Carson states, “And help us all to recognize as a nation that separation of church and state means that the church does not dominate the state and it means that the state does not dominate the church. It doesn’t mean that they cannot work together to promote godly principles…” While this statement may seem harmless, we must understand his statement from both history and Bible prophecy, which reveal that whenever church and state unite, it results in the church dominating the state.
“Thus again was demonstrated the evil results, so often witnessed in the history of the church from the days of Constantine to the present, of attempting to build up the church by the aid of the state, of appealing to the secular power in support of the gospel of Him who declared: ‘My kingdom is not of this world.’ John 18:36. The union of the church with the state, be the degree never so slight, while it may appear to bring the world nearer to the church, does in reality but bring the church nearer to the world.”
"The pacific tone of Rome in the United States does not imply a change of heart. She is tolerant where she is helpless. Says Bishop O'Connor: 'Religious liberty is merely endured until the opposite can be carried into effect without peril to the Catholic world.’”
“The regulation was adopted by the colonists that only church members should have a voice in the civil government. A kind of state church was formed, all the people being required to contribute to the support of the clergy, and the magistrates being authorized to suppress heresy. Thus the secular power was in the hands of the church. It was not long before these measures led to the inevitable result —persecution."
Ben Carson: Church & State Can Work Together To Promote Godly Principles. An Analysis through Bible & S.O.P. Wise & Evil Servants in this present Day of Investigative Judgment.
“Let the principle once be established in the United States that the church may employ [make use of] or control [dominate] the power of the state; that religious observances may be enforced by secular laws; in short, that the authority of church and state is to dominate the conscience, and the triumph of Rome in this country is assured.”
“In the movements now in progress in the United States to secure for the institutions and usages of the church the support of the state, Protestants are following in the steps of papists. Nay, more, they are opening the door for the papacy to regain in Protestant America the supremacy which she has lost in the Old World. And that which gives greater significance to this movement is the fact that the principal object contemplated is the enforcement of Sunday observance--a custom which originated with Rome, and which she claims as the sign of her authority.”
Protestants, such as Ben Carson, and Protestant America as a nation are opening the door for the reemergence of Roman Catholicism by uniting church and state in any capacity. As mentioned before, Ben Carson is the current secretary of Housing and Urban Development. A person must use a door to enter a house. Therefore, Ben Carson, over the housing department, is advocating the opening of the door for the entrance of Popery into the United States government and civilization, whether knowingly or unknowingly, directly or indirectly.
“The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet's words: The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.’ Revelation 12:17.”
