Grapes- A natural blessing from God

Grapes are the berries that come from the vitis plant and they come in a variety of colors from red to yellow. You can consume grapes in a variety of ways, from grape jelly, grape seed extract, grape juice and raisins.

One of the first places we find grapes referenced in the Bible is in Isaiah 65:8, “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it...”

The verse speaks about “new wine” “found in the cluster.” Grapes are found in clusters, and the wine is new because it is unfermented. When we see wine in a positive context it is not ALCOHOL, but grape JUICE.

Within this JUICE there is a blessing.

Improve Digestion

1 Timothy 5:23 , “Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake...”

Grapes and grape juice help IMPROVE DIGESTION...

Contrary to popular belief, wine upsets the stomach, while grape juice helps it. This is because of a compound found in the skin of red grapes called Flavonoids.Every time we eat grapes or drink grape juice Flavonoids  protect the stomach lining.

FLAVONOIDS also soothe an irritated digestive tract and help get rid of unnecessary irritation.

Improves Heart Health

Grapes improve heart health because of the compounds in grapes such as:

  • resveratrol (rez.veer.atral)

  • flavonoids

These compounds simply help activate a process in our genes that reduce heart muscle damage…

Other Benefits

  • Reduce blood clotting

  • Lower LDL Cholesterol

  • Lower blood pressure

Grapes and the Brain

Studies suggest that grapes can enhance brain health. A study published in the British Journal of Nutrition claims that grape juice can even boost memory performance and improve the brain function of older people who have already displayed mild impairment by adding a glass of grape juice to their daily diet.

Another Blessing

“...Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.” Genesis 40:9-13

Another blessing we find referenced in the Bible is in Genesis 40:9-13

While Joseph was in prison, the chief butler told him his dream. In his dream he mentions how he took a cluster of grapes and squeezed them into Pharaoh's cup.

  • Later, Joseph interprets the dream , and this is what Joseph tells him in verse 13: “Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place...”

Grape Seed Extract

Final  Place In Scripture

Matthew 26:27-29 “And he took the cup….saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins….”

  • Every time we drink or eat grapes, we should remember that Christ bled for our sins
