WHAT'S TRENDING

Is your smart meter killing you?

March 22, 2017

In the past five years, most utility companies have adopted and transitioned from analog non-standard meters to smart meters, where home usage of these utilities are transmitted via wireless RF (radio frequency) transmissions to the utility provider. A smart meter is a new kind of gas and electricity meter that can digitally send meter readings to your energy supplier. [6]

Most of us remember the, “meter readers” who would come out monthly to read the usage on our meters, however companies have found the most effective (to them, that is) way to gather this information-by replacing workers with this smart meter. Although, this may seem to be a great idea, the RF transmissions are now being seen to have adverse effects on health.

Despite the arguments of utility companies that the new smart meters have no evidence of causing health problems, they also have no evidence that it doesn’t. In a survey conducted, the following symptoms were reported due to the installation of these smart meters:

  • Sleep problems (insomnia, difficulty falling asleep, night waking, nightmares)

  • Stress, agitation, anxiety, irritability

  • Headaches, sharp pain or pressure in the head

  • Ringing in the ears, ear pain, high pitched ringing

  • Concentration, memory or learning problems

  • Fatigue, muscle or physical weakness

  • Disorientation, dizziness, or balance problems

  • Eye problems, including eye pain, pressure in the eyes,

  • Cardiac symptoms, heart palpitations, heart arrhythmias, chest pain

  • Leg cramps, or neuropathy

  • Arthritis, body pain, sharp, stabbing pains

  • Nausea, flu-like symptoms

  • Sinus problems, nose bleeds

  • Respiratory problems, cough, asthma

  • Skin rashes, facial flushing

  • Urinary problems

  • Endocrine disorders, thyroid problems, diabetes

  • High blood pressure

  • Changes in menstrual cycle

  • Hyperactivity or changes in children’s behavior

  • Seizures

  • Recurrence of cancer [2]

As a stay at home mom, homeschooling three children, spending a considerable amount of time in the home, this was a rather disturbing discovery for me. As I reviewed the symptoms I could very well attest to an increase or an onset of several of these conditions on occasions, in myself and in my family. It also became ever so clear to me that this is another one of the reasons Christ says to, GET OUT OF THE CITIES and move in to the countries where we can begin to learn to become self-sufficient, detached from governmental assistance, support and sustenance.

“The physical surroundings in the cities are often a peril to health. The constant liability to contact with disease, the prevalence of foul air, impure water, impure food, the crowded, dark, unhealthful dwellings, are some of the many evils to be met.

It was not God's purpose that people should be crowded into cities, huddled together in terraces and tenements. In the beginning, He placed our first parents amidst the beautiful sights and sounds He desires us to rejoice in today. The more nearly we come into harmony with God's original plan, the more favorable will be our position to secure health of body, and mind, and soul.” [4]

For those still living in the cities and those transitioning to the country, I was relieved to discover that having a smart meter does not have to be the case. As a consumer, I have the right to request to revert to the traditional analog reader. Of course, as with all things that are best for you, there are fees attached. In the state of Florida (Florida Power and Light), there is an enrollment fee of $89 and a monthly surcharge of $13. For my health and the health of my family, I say it’s worth it.
